AB Vista, AB Agri’s global feed additive business, continues to deliver pioneering products and technical services to livestock producers across the poultry, swine, ruminant and aquaculture sectors. Central to its success has been the development of phytase enzymes, which improve nutrient utilisation and reduce the environmental impact of animal production.
Building on its strong legacy in the phytase market, AB Vista this year launched Quantum Force, a next-generation phytase developed through extensive research and development in collaboration with AB Enzymes. Quantum Force enhances performance and reliability, offering improved nutrient release and greater flexibility for feed formulation. It is also up to 20% more efficient than AB Vista’s forerunner product Quantum Blue, enabling further cost reductions for customers and, in some cases, supporting phosphate-free diets while improving robustness under demanding feed processing conditions.
AB Vista has a long and successful track record of innovation in the phytase market, with the launch in 2012 of Quantum Blue marking a significant stepchange for the industry. At the time, phytase use was limited, but the product helped demonstrate how unlocking naturally occurring phosphorus in feed could significantly improve efficiency.
Today, the phytase market is well established, with an estimated 90% adoption across monogastric species such as poultry and swine. Within this mature and highly competitive market, AB Vista has maintained its leadership position as a global top-three supplier, with around 20% share. This reflects both the continued performance of its products and the strength of its global technical expertise.
Following its initial launch in Asia, including India, early adoption of Quantum Force is now underway, with further geographic expansion planned as regulatory approvals progress. This reflects AB Vista’s strategy of combining innovation with strong local market engagement.
As the business evolves, AB Vista continues to invest in scientific and technical expertise, as well as broadening its portfolio of nutrition and health solutions. However, enzymes remain a core strategic focus, underpinning both strong customer relationships and future growth for the category. Through continuous innovation and global reach, AB Vista is well positioned to sustain its leadership in a mature market while delivering tangible economic and environmental benefits to customers worldwide.
